Heat exchanger

A heat exchanger is an apparatus for transferring heat from one medium to another. In compression refrigeration systems, only indirect heat exchangers in which the two media are separated by a solid wall are used. In refrigeration systems, heat exchangers are used as evaporators and as condensers. Frequently used types are plate heat exchangers, tube bundle heat exchangers or tube coils.
