HOFFMANN circulating recoolers are high-performance solutions for tempering liquids. Thanks to their compact design, they take up very little space. The devices are suitable for single-circuit or multi-circuit systems and can be used universally for both simple and complex applications. In flow-through recoolers, the liquid to be cooled is pumped into the cooler’s evaporator. Depending on the application, the evaporator is either a plate heat exchanger or a pipe bundle heat exchanger. It extracts the heat from the fluid being cooled and releases it into the atmosphere via the air-cooled condenser. The tempering of liquids can be adjusted with a control accuracy of ±1°C. HOFFMANN circulating coolers are suitable for ambient temperatures up to +40°C as standard.
Explanations and clarifications on some frequently asked questions about cooling technology and terminology used.
HOFFMANN coolers are designed as compression refrigeration systems. This version which can also be found in refrigerators, for example, has the best efficiency of all common cooling techniques in the room temperature range.
The function of a cooling lubricant is to reduce the friction between tool and workpiece in order to generate less heat and thus improve the machining result. The cooling lubricant heats up in the course of this and thus carries away the heat generated from the machining zone.
